Safety Specialist

About the role

The Safety Specialist applies scientific and practical knowledge to innovate, design, and improve safety systems, processes, equipment, and tools. Their goal is to enhance safety characteristics in alignment with daily operations, new models, and innovation initiatives to achieve safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead departmental and plant improvement projects supporting safety themes.
• Proactively utilize PDCA cycle to reduce injuries, hazards, and promote continuous safety improvements.
• Support leadership and safety committees to foster a self-sustaining safety culture.
• Interpret and apply safety policies, including risk assessments and ergonomic studies.
• Perform detailed safety compliance activities, data analysis, and reporting.
• Develop technical expertise and professional skills.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0-4 years of safety experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, injury prevention strategies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; openness to mentorship and growth.
