Safety & Security Team

Ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and school property by monitoring premises, enforcing policies, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol school buildings and grounds to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Enforce school policies and procedures related to safety and security, including visitor management and student conduct.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security breaches. Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Document and report all incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities. Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of school facilities and equipment. Identify and address potential safety hazards.
• Assist in resolving conflicts and de-escalating potentially volatile situations involving students, staff, or visitors.
• Participate in and conduct safety drills, including fire drills, lockdown drills, and evacuation procedures. Provide training to staff and students on safety protocols.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community to promote a culture of safety and security.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in security or law enforcement preferred.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8+ hours).
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay

$22 per hour (29 hours per week).
