Safety Program Manager

JOB TITLE: Safety Program Manager **TOP 3 SKILLS:**Safety Experience, OSHA 30, Accident Investigations LOCATION: Marysville, CA or Stockton, CA DURATION: 3-6 months RATE RANGE: $52-64/hour JOB DESCRIPTION:Ensures the effectiveness of the district/department safety committees and serves as an ad-hoc member of all such committeesEstablishes target area and long-range accident prevention and cost-control objectivesAttends meetings and training as directed by organization.Collaborates with Engineering and company contractors to assure safety compliance and practices for field operationsRecommends process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazardsEvaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices and programsResponsible for coordinating evacuations drills at each Southern district officePerforms Root Cause Analyses for each accident, incident, or exposureReports on and reviews findings from accident investigations and facilities inspections programsQUALIFICATIONS:Three years of experience as a safety professional in the utility industry; or equivalent experience in construction, emergency response, or field work in the water utility industryOSHA 30 Compliance Certification (preferred)Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applicationRequires travel 50%; most will be day tripsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent experience IND123 BENEFITS SUMMARY: Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
