Safety Professional – Short Term
About the Role
Medcor Safety provides safety services to the Construction and General Industry sectors. The Safety Professional will identify safety hazards and communicate mitigation strategies to site crews and management.
Responsibilities
- Develop positive professional relationships with field personnel, management, and external agencies.
- Coordinate and conduct audits to improve unsafe work conditions and recognize safe practices.
- Document and communicate audit findings.
- Audit training records of all field personnel.
- Implement federal, state, local, and site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports.
- Develop and review Site-Specific Safety Plans and kick-off/safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with client/owner-specific safety requirements.
Requirements
- Current CPR / First Aid Card
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
- CHST, OSHA 500 Certification Preferred
- 5+ years of safety experience required
- EM 385-1-1 40-hour Certification Required
- 24-Hour Fall Protection Certification (USACE) Required
Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic word processing and generate spreadsheets.
- Access and use the Internet and E-mail.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, bend, squat, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see.
- Occasionally lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- Close vision and ability to adjust and focus required.

$50.00 - $55.00/hour
