Safety Professional - Short Term

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is a Safety Services company serving the Construction and General Industry.

About the role

The Safety Professional will identify safety hazards and communicate with site crews and management to mitigate these hazards. The successful candidate must be a team player, knowledgeable of Federal, State, Local, General Contractor, and Owner Requirements governing the project.

Project Details

• Location: Delta, PA
• Project Type: New Construction - Electrical Substation
• Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
• Anticipated Duration: 4-5 months

Pay

• Hourly Pay: $40.00/hour (W2)
• Per Diem: $150.00/day (paid days worked)

Schedule

• Anticipated Hours/Week: 40-50 hours/week

Responsibilities

• Develop positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management, and outside agencies during all phases of construction.
• Coordinate and conduct audits of all crews to identify areas for improvement of unsafe work conditions and practices; recognize safe work practices.
• Document and communicate site audit information.
• Audit training records of all field personnel.
• Implement all federal, local, and site programs, policies, and procedures.
• Receive, review, and participate in the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports.
• Participate in the development of Site-Specific Safety Plans and kick-off/safety meetings.
• Review client/owner-specific requirements and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Current CPR / First Aid Card (Required)
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction (Required)
• CHST or OSHA 500 (Preferred)
• 5 years of relevant safety experience

Skills

• Basic word processing and spreadsheet generation
• Internet and email usage

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to:

• Stand, bend, squat, sit, and demonstrate manual dexterity
• Climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms
• Talk, hear, and see
• Lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) occasionally

Specific abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus.
