Big-D Heavy Industrial is seeking a Safety Professional to join our team based in Miami, AZ. This role is part of a mission-driven company committed to growth, innovation, and purpose.
Responsibilities
- Works on a specific jobsite and collaborates with the safety team and leadership to establish a zero-harm culture.
- Maintains and documents site conditions, focusing on safety items, through photographs and written reports.
- Develops and implements safety improvement plans with project leadership and documents these plans.
- Conducts specialized safety training sessions for safety or risk-related concerns specific to the project.
- Participates in monthly safety training meetings and holds specialty training sessions as needed.
- Monitors and responds to safety concerns and incidents, assisting in accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant safety standards and conducts job hazard analyses.
- Conducts job site orientation for new employees and reviews hazard analysis documents.
- Manages incident reporting and ensures regular, timely, and predictable attendance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred or at least 1-3 years of construction safety experience.
- Proven track record of successful OSHA/MSHA ratings, loss-work records, EMR trainings, etc.
- OSHA 30 hour training required; OSHA outreach instructor certification (OSHA 500) preferred.
- MSHA 24 hour training; MSHA Blue Card Instructor a plus.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associated Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or other relevant safety certifications desirable.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
