Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Provide safety training and education to all employees, including CPR, First Aid, and Forklift operation.
- Manage and maintain records of all safety-related incidents and conduct thorough investigations to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote awareness and understanding of safety and occupational health policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present regular safety reports to management, highlighting trends, and suggesting improvements.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with emergency response teams as necessary.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Certifications including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), and Forklift Certified Trainer (can be obtained after hire).
- Proficiency in CPR and First Aid.
- Excellent knowledge of federal and state safety and health regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively deliver training and presentations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- A proactive approach to safety and health, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Pay
$88,000 - $115,000 per year
