Safety & Occupational Health Specialist

About the role

This position is located at Ice Harbor, a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions that include operation and maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydroelectric power generation, recreation and natural resources management.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conducts regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborates with engineering and operations teams to develop and implement corrective actions for identified safety issues.
• Provides training and education on occupational health and safety practices to employees.
• Maintains records and reports related to safety and occupational health activities.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational health and safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as a power plant or similar facility.
• Experience with risk assessment and hazard identification.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
