About the role
This position is located at Ice Harbor, a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions that include operation and maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydroelectric power generation, recreation and natural resources management.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conducts regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborates with engineering and operations teams to develop and implement corrective actions for identified safety issues.
- Provides training and education on occupational health and safety practices to employees.
- Maintains records and reports related to safety and occupational health activities.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational health and safety.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Experience working in a regulated environment such as a power plant or similar facility.
- Experience with risk assessment and hazard identification.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
