Responsibilities
- Manage and enforce Wilhelm's Safety Program for the assigned project(s).
- Identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage.
- Use and enforce job-specific safety standards, best management practices, and Wilhelm's safety program.
- Ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident-free project.
- Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meetings" and document content and attendance.
- Conduct Safety Orientations for new employees.
- Advise project staff on site-specific safety issues and guidelines.
- Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
- Provide leadership on the project and build working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives to ensure proper compliance.
- Collaborate with foremen on means/methods for performing Hazard Recognition and Analysis (HRA) work (excavations, fall protection, heavy equipment, etc.).
- Monitor Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and pipe testing procedures.
Requirements
- Education: Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meetings" and document content and attendance.
- Experience: 7+ years' safety experience in construction or similar industry.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of construction methods and OSHA standards.
- Certification: OSHA 30 Certification.
- Attributes: Comfortable at the table with all levels of leadership, collaborator, integrity, organized and systematic, excellent verbal and written communication skills, commitment to excellence.

What It Takes
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- Experience: 7+ years' safety experience in construction or similar industry.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of construction methods and OSHA standards.
- Certification: OSHA 30 Certification.
