Safety Manager - Columbus, OH

About the role

As a Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing safety responsibilities. You’ll work closely with project teams and receive guidance from senior safety leadership, ensuring that every jobsite meets Barton Malow’s high standards and complies with OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits on a project site.
• Correct or abate basic hazards, unsafe acts, safety violations, or safety issues.
• Effectively address basic project safety concerns that may develop or exist; consult senior safety leadership for non-basic or project-wide matters.
• Execute project safety plans, Barton Malow safety manual policies and procedures, and OSHA standards.
• Lead or facilitate safety meetings and orientations.
• Participate in project leadership meetings to present and disseminate safety matters.
• Conduct and/or review inspections of machines, tools, equipment, vehicles, and safety equipment; act as Competent Person to determine proper action.
• Lead or perform incident investigations for all incident types and compile documentation and summaries.

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction safety experience in a similar role.
• OSHA 510 certification preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification.
