About the role
Nixon Power Services is seeking a Safety Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of EHS related experience in a manufacturing/distribution/service environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop process/strategy for EHS programs and initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Collaborates with functional team leads and works to establish business partnerships.
- Maintains and monitors the effectiveness of EHS programs, training, and procedures within the organization.
- Provides leadership, guidance, and program consultation in the interpretation and application of safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Analyzes incident/accident data to identify specific trends and hazardous conditions that require an in-depth analysis and development or implementation of policy revisions.
- Regularly communicates with business line management on EHS performance and initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with all Customer Safety Portals (Avetta, ISNetworld, etc.).
- Ensures all documentation is complete for any Recordable Incidents, and when necessary, Near Miss Incidents.
- Executes NFPA 70E Training and ensures compliance.
- Pairs with Human Resources to ensure compliance with all EHS documentation.
- Led the Strategic Safety Council and ensures Safety Committees are established and led at each service center with local leadership teams.
- Conducts regular Field Safety Audits with Technicians.
- Partners with Nixon’s Risk Management partners, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of EHS related experience in a manufacturing/distribution/service environment.
- Strong ability to lead, persuade, motivate, and influence others.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and violations.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs.
- Excellent customer service skills.
