About the role
Lynden Logistics is looking for a Safety Manager to support our Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) program, based in our Anchorage, AK Service Center. As our Safety Manager, you’ll partner with our Director of HR & HSSE to help coordinate company safety programs, support regulatory compliance, and promote safe work practices across our service center network to support our mission of maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient operation throughout Lynden Logistics. This is a safety sensitive position.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay Range: $74,000 - $87,000 annually
- Position Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-site position. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required. Periodic travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support company health, safety, security, and environmental programs across Lynden Logistics service centers in the United States and Canada.
- Develop, deliver, and document safety training programs, including new hire safety orientation, hazardous materials handling, forklift safety, cargo securement, and emergency procedures.
- Work with on-site leadership to conduct inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to identify hazards and ensure adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the company’s drug and alcohol testing program, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and return-to-duty testing requirements.
- Lead or support investigations of workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, cargo damage, near misses, and safety concerns while recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, compliance documentation, OSHA logs, training records, and incident reporting files.
- Analyze safety metrics, prepare reports, and collaborate with leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

- Strong knowledge of workplace safety programs, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and training facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and compliance requirements.
- Ability to conduct inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective action follow-up.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and recordkeeping systems.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Three to five years of safety, transportation, warehousing, logistics, regulatory compliance, or related operational experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
Preferred qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, Forklift Trainer Certification, COSS, ASP, CSP, or similar safety certification.
- Experience in transportation, warehousing, logistics, or DOT/FMCSA compliance programs.
- Experience managing workplace safety training, audits, and incident investigations.
