Safety Manager

About The Role

Essity Health and Medical Solutions North America is seeking a Safety Manager for our Manchester, CT location. As part of the site leadership team (SLT), this role will promote a proactive safety culture, implement programs for regulatory compliance and Essity requirements, and drive risk reduction through continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Lead site-wide safety culture change by implementing Essity I Care Journey Steps
• Establish safety goals, objectives, and implementation plans with the SLT
• Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and training modules
• Coordinate supervisory and employee safety training and record keeping
• Lead safety communications site-wide
• Implement a management system ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
• Coordinate and participate in Union/Management Safety Committee meetings
• Supervise activities of contract security guard services
• Coordinate safety audits, incident, and accident investigations
• Manage entry of safety data metrics in the company database
• Coordinate and support machine safety risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis, and pre-job work permit planning
• Lead the contractor management program
• Perform other essential responsibilities as necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Occupational Safety or relevant program (preferred)
• Five plus (5+) years of safety management experience (preferred)
• Ability to develop and implement safety programs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to motivate employees to work safely
• Strong computer and training skills
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers compensation law

Pay

Expected compensation: Annual base salary of $100K - $145K + annual incentive bonus + benefits. Pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
