Safety Manager

About the role

The City of Sioux City seeks a self-directed, dynamic, field-oriented professional to join their team and help maintain a great safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage safety culture
• Lead and develop training programs
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify safety, health and environmental risks
• Develop health and safety procedures for the organization and ensure employee adherence
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state safety laws
• Maintain safety data sheets
• Chair safety committee
• Manage the restricted duty program for injured workers
• Act as a consultant to department and division managers and supervisors
• Report directly to the Human Resources Director
• Available outside of normal business hours to address safety related issues

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health or related field
• Five (5) years of full-time related experience

Pay

Annual salary range: $84,620.79 - $115,808.96
