Safety Intern

About the role

We are a leading building supply company employing over 800 team members across Long Island, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Support the health and safety department and initiatives by assisting with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety equipment, supplies, signage, and apparel for all locations
• Maintain employee safety records, certifications, licenses, training, DOT documentation, and drug testing records
• Track renewals and expiration dates and follow up with employees and managers to ensure compliance
• Schedule required safety and equipment training with outside vendors
• Maintain safety and worksite inspection records

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; related education or experience preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office and learning new technology
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities

Pay

Expected salary range: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour (NYS transparency compliance). Compensation based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
