Job Description Performance Contracting is seeking a Site Safety Engineer for its PCI Portland 553 operations based in Portland, OR. Job Responsibilities Include Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnelAssist with the administration of PCI’s Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activitiesAssist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazardsEnsure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectationsCoach employees to achieve compliance with accident prevention plans, policies, and proceduresIdentify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazardsConduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of complianceResponsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project siteConvey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCIEvaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) Pay range: $30-40 per hour, depending on experience. This position is safety-sensitive. Basic Requirements Must have at least 3 years’ experience in construction safety Must have OSHA 30 certificationMust be at least 18 years oldDisplays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholdersAble to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outsidePhysically able to perform assigned tasksMust be able to lift 40 pounds independently Preferred Requirements Bilingual in Spanish and English preferredDegree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety is a plusPrevious experience conducting safety training is a plusLocal to Portland, OR metro area This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
