About the role
As a Safety Manager at FCL, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that every job site remains a safe environment for all team members, subcontractors, and clients. Your responsibilities include conducting monthly safety training, performing random safety inspections, collaborating with subcontractors, staying updated on OSHA regulations, leading accident investigations, and maintaining thorough safety documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly safety training for FCL employees to maintain high safety standards.
- Perform random safety inspections on all job sites each month to identify and address potential hazards.
- Work closely with subcontractors to ensure they address safety issues promptly and efficiently.
- Stay up to date on OSHA regulations and educate employees about changes or current trends in construction safety.
- Create and manage safety reports, providing updates to the Director of Safety, Project Manager, and company Executives.
- Interface with OSHA and other regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- Lead accident and incident investigations to ensure causes are identified and corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain thorough records of site inspections, incident reports, investigations, and safety documentation.
- Collaborate with field staff to improve safety practices and implement preventive measures on job sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, or equivalent work experience in safety management.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification in Construction Safety and Health.
- Current driver’s license with the ability to travel to job sites and offices as needed.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local construction safety regulations.
- Ability to communicate safety concerns and remediation methods effectively with subcontractors in a professional manner.
Preferred
- Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), such as GSP, CHST, STSC, or CSP.
- First Aid/CPR/AED and BBP certifications, with a willingness to become a certified trainer.
- Proficiency in auditing and software tools (CMiC, HammerTech, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
