About the role
Henderson Building Solutions is hiring a Safety Coordinator to support mission critical projects in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures on assigned projects
- Supports jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification activities
- Makes sure jobsites comply with safety standards and reports findings to safety leadership
- Maintains accurate safety documentation, including reports, logs, and inspection records
- Ensures personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements are met
- Identifies and communicates potential safety concerns
- Monitors jobsite activities and addresses unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Coordinates safety-related activities on jobsites
- Supports safety planning efforts by gathering information and assisting with implementation
- Facilitates safety orientations and training sessions
- Promotes safe work practices among field personnel
- Encourages open communication of safety concerns and fosters a positive safety culture
- Attends safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project kickoff activities
- Gathers information and documentation related to safety incidents
- Prepares incident reports and safety documentation
- Tracks safety metrics and ensures timely and accurate reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, construction management, or related field required
- Minimum 2+ years of safety experience required, preferably in the construction industry
- Experience supporting safety audits, inspections, or reporting preferred
- Familiarity with construction process and jobsite environment preferred
- OSHA10 or OSHA30 certification required, or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices and regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to identify hazards and follow established safety procedures
- Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Work in various environments, including office settings and active construction jobsites. Frequently moves about construction sites, occasionally ascends/descends ladders, traverses uneven terrain, operates a computer and other office equipment, frequently communicates with employees, contractors, and leadership, detects, identifies, and assesses potential safety hazards in varying environments, moves or transports safety equipment and materials as needed on jobsites, regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, able to travel between job sites, occasional overnight travel may be required, valid driver’s license required

Pay
Washington, D.C. Salary Range: $57,536 - $86,304
