Safety Coordinator - Janus

Responsibilities

• Implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance
• Deliver and/or coordinate training programs focused on safety practices, emergency response, proper equipment usage, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other essential safety topics
• Ensure employees are up to date with annual training requirements
• Perform routine safety inspections and risk assessments across the facility and work processes
• Proactively identify hazards, evaluate potential risks, and recommend corrective measures to eliminate or mitigate safety concerns
• Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses
• Prepare thorough incident reports, identify root causes, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence
• Ensure incidents are reported to relevant authorities in a timely and accurate manner
• Stay informed on the latest OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards
• Ensure the facility’s safety practices meet or exceed regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections
• Accompany employees to medical clinic when necessary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Relevant certifications such as OSHA Certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a safety coordinator or similar role within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing safety programs and conducting safety training
• Understanding of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment methodologies
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the unique hazards associated with them
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software
