Responsibilities
- Implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Deliver and/or coordinate training programs focused on safety practices, emergency response, proper equipment usage, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other essential safety topics
- Ensure employees are up to date with annual training requirements
- Perform routine safety inspections and risk assessments across the facility and work processes
- Proactively identify hazards, evaluate potential risks, and recommend corrective measures to eliminate or mitigate safety concerns
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses
- Prepare thorough incident reports, identify root causes, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence
- Ensure incidents are reported to relevant authorities in a timely and accurate manner
- Stay informed on the latest OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards
- Ensure the facility’s safety practices meet or exceed regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections
- Accompany employees to medical clinic when necessary
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA Certification or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a safety coordinator or similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing safety programs and conducting safety training
- Understanding of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the unique hazards associated with them
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software
