Safety Coordinator
About the role
The Safety Coordinator will advise and assist in the implementation and management of safety plans for Cavco Industries' operations. This includes ensuring compliance with company policy and prevailing safety requirements, conducting training programs, auditing and inspecting sites, and managing safety records.
Responsibilities
- Advise and assist in the implementation and management of safety plans for the operations.
- Ensure the safety plan reflects company policy and complies with prevailing safety requirements.
- Communicate with all employees and management on a regular basis regarding training, company updates, policy updates, general training processes, and additional duties as requested.
- Audits and inspects the site to detect and correct safety hazards.
- Audits job accident records and prepares periodic audit reports.
- Initiates and conducts accident investigations and prepares job accident reports.
- Represents management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers.
- Receives, reviews, and distributes safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Oversees the new hire safety orientation process and other safety-related training.
- Conducts risk assessments for upcoming work and provides technical assistance to the safety planning process.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Manages and provides training records as needed, such as attendance, completed vs. outstanding items, etc.
- Circulates communications promoting training events and opportunities.
- Participates in creating and distributing training materials.
Qualifications
- Two more years’ experience in a similar training environment.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage a wide variety of tasks.
- Demonstrates the ability to solve problems and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicates effectively in visual, oral, and written form; uses active listening skills.
- Requires the ability to use independent judgment and discretion when identifying and prioritizing needs.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards; and willingness to take initiative.
Requirements
- Valid state driver's license.
- Maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment, as defined by company vehicle insurance standards.
- Has obtained an OSHA 10 General Industry certification.
- Minimal experience in the MH (Manufactured Home) industry (consideration given for experience).
Benefits
Salary range: 35-60K based on qualifications.
