Safety Coordinator

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage all safety related files.
• Learn how to navigate the Hyster Tracker System.
• Provide Training and Certify Forklift Operators on written and driving test.
• Sends out reports via email on facility housekeeping audits, weekly safety reports, OSHA trainings, safety committee minutes, monthly inspections fire extinguishers, lighting & fans, weekly MHE hours, monthly MHE hours.
• Help Safety Manager Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits to comply with company policies.
• Provides Safety Training to Forklift Operators based on IRC determinations on weekly basis.
• Attends safety meetings given by agencies on monthly basis and this includes changing schedule hours to meet the business need.
• Conducts along with Safety Manager monthly Safety self-audits.
• Audits all first aid kits and/or safety for facilities at least once a month.
• Prepares meeting minutes, meeting notes and internal support materials.
• Aids in interpreting from English to Spanish as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Strong communications skills; both verbal and written.
• Basic Knowledge of OSHA Compliance & California Regulations.
• Team player.
• Must be self-motivated and work independently.
• Intermediate skills in Excel ,Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to communicate with others by telephone and in person.
• Office setting with exposure to warehouse environment as the work being performed requires.
• Quick on their feet, willing to be flexible with the work schedule and hours with possible weekends.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
• 1 year of safety coordinator experience preferred.
