About the role
National Technologies (NTI), a Network Connex Company, is a premier turnkey installer of fiber optic and data center infrastructure. The primary purpose of the Project Safety Coordinator is to minimize the risks of job-related accidents and to promote health and safety at a designated project location.
Responsibilities
- Attend safety walks, inspections, and regular meetings that may be required onsite.
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe equipment operation.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Fully understand NTI and Project Owners' safety documents, management tools, guidelines, and procedures.
- Interface with foreman and NTI employees on a daily basis to ensure safe work practices and PPE requirements are being adhered to.
- Manage incident reporting and analysis process for unplanned events onsite.
- Interface with local leadership and NTI Safety Director to ensure a consistent approach to safety in the field.
- Ensure daily briefing/JHA's are being performed onsite.
- Oversee regular safety toolbox talk meetings.
- Implement site-specific safety plans and JHA's for high-risk activities.
- Perform daily visual inspections of the jobsite in addition to weekly documented site safety inspections.
- Manage and upload all project safety documentation within the project owner's online portal.
- Perform other project-related safety duties as needed.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of safety coordination experience.
- Bachelor's degree in health and safety or a related field may be preferred.
- OSHA 30 Hour Certificate for Construction is required.
Skills
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and auditor safety software.
- Understanding of federal, state, and city safety requirements, including OSHA.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
