Safety Coordinator

Main Tasks

• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the site HSE Management System and Written Safety Program.
• Deliver new hire safety orientation and annual refresher training; support safety onboarding with HR.
• Conduct site safety inspections, emergency evacuation drills, and accident/incident investigations.
• Ensure timely completion of incident reports, workers’ compensation submissions, and regulatory documentation (OSHA 300 log, reports, and safety alerts).
• Cook up monthly Safety Committee meetings and track action items to closure.
• Maintain safety records, documentation, and performance boards (e.g., SQDC).
• Monitor employee compliance with PPE and safe work practices.
• Support supervisors in developing safety procedures, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
• Act as liaison with external safety agencies and escalate major HSE concerns as needed.
• Support plant HSE targets, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One to two years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety practices is necessary.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• The ability to work independently, multitask, and interact effectively at all levels is important.
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
• The authorized to work in the United States is a requirement.
