Safety Coordinator

About the role
Create a safe working environment for team members by developing and implementing effective safety programs, conducting training focused on workplace safety and incident minimization, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics
- Promote a safe work culture within a high-paced manufacturing environment
- Coordinate emergency response plans and safety drills
- Maintain safety documentation and reports
- Investigate incidents and accidents and assist in creating countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
- Provide safety training and certifications to team members
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3-5 years safety experience in manufacturing or construction setting
- Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and abatement
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, safety management software, and tools
- Must pass drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests as required by law
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field
- Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or CSHO (Certified Safety and Health Official)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- First Aid/CPR trainer certification

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

- Work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures and dusty environments
