About the role
We are hiring a Safety and Compliance Manager in the North Regions of the US. The position involves coordinating and guiding accident and incident investigations, performing periodic safety and compliance audits, and ensuring DOT and OSHA compliance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and guides all accident and incident investigations
- Performs periodic safety and compliance audits for branches
- Assures compliance with all DOT safety regulations
- Develops, implements, and manages safety programs and procedures
- Ensures DOT and OSHA compliance
- Compiles and submits accident and other reports required by Airgas, Third-party administrators and regulatory agencies
- Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries
- Maintains safety files and records, DOT files and reports, Training files (Airgas U, etc.) and SafeCor Reports (accident and month end)
- Provides environmental, health, and safety expertise to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policy
- Devises, guides, and coordinates training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safety practices and to promote safety consciousness
Requirements
- Greater than 5 years related experience strongly preferred, within an industrial and distribution setting
- An equivalent combination of education and industry experience will be considered
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of DOT and OSHA rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Safety preferred, Occupational Health, Environmental Sciences or a related field
