About the role
The Safety Companion provides continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety. This role performs light patient care tasks, such as repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. The Safety Companion documents relevant information in the patient record and communicates effectively with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and patient age groups, contributing to each patient’s comfort and well-being.
Pay
Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
Schedule
This is an hourly position.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain safety.
- Perform light patient care tasks, including repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living.
- Document relevant information in the patient record.
- Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure seamless, high-quality care.
Requirements
- CPR - BLS certification (within 90 days of onboarding).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Preferred Education: High School Diploma/GED.
- Preferred Experience: 1 year of work experience in a service industry.
