About the Role

The Safety Clerk Summer Intern supports quality control operations by maintaining organized documentation, tracking inspections, test records, and ensuring compliance with materials, equipment, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to required use of technical tools, working practices, and regimes to preserve regulatory and internal compliance.
• Work with the team to ensure deliverables and service levels are met within agreed timelines.
• Maintain strict compliance with technical tools, SOPs, and QC/QA protocols to safeguard internal standards.
• Proactively enter and maintain critical regulatory information in required systems to meet standards and timelines.
• Identify risks to submission quality or deadlines and implement practical mitigation strategies.
• Actively manage status and expected deliverables to identify risks and formulate mitigation strategies for quality and timeliness.

Requirements

• Experience in an industrial construction setting.
• At least one year in a clerk role supporting or assigned to a job site.
• Proven success in compiling and filing regulatory submissions.
• Demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills in multicultural settings.
• Strong listening skills and ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and logically.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment (e.g., a start-up pharmaceutical plant under construction).
• Strong problem-solving skills to generate innovative solutions to complex regulatory issues.
• Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a team when needed.
• Commitment to maintaining data integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy in all documentation and reporting.
• Experience with Bluebeam, SharePoint, O365, and intermediate Excel skills.

Physical/Site Requirements

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
