Safety Clerk
About the role
The Safety Clerk will be responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into databases for the purpose of storing accident, injury, and incident reports. Responsibilities
- Uses a variety of software programs and forms to accurately document all injury, accident, and incident reports
- Reviews data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities
- Follows up with employees and other departments, as needed, to obtain incomplete or missing information
- Compiles data and generates reports
- Create employee files, scans documents for electronic storage, and files hard copy documents
- Responds to queries for information and accesses relevant files
- Covers the Receptionist position during periods of absence
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Two (2) years of clerical work in an office setting
Qualifications
- Accurate data entry keystrokes with adequate speed
- Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills
- Computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Utilize other departmental and Company software programs
- Multi-task, work effectively with interruptions, and meet or exceed production and quality goals
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
- Handle confidential or sensitive information or issues
- Work in a team environment and willing to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
- Work effectively with a diverse workforce
- Travel requirement: Less than 5%
