Safety Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Safety leads a team of safety professionals to innovate, design, and improve safety systems, processes, and equipment. They ensure safety compliance, promote safety excellence, and align safety initiatives with operational goals and new models.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety themes and complex improvement projects within the plant.
• Manage daily safety operations and mentor team members, fostering technical expertise.
• Use safety knowledge to proactively reduce hazards through PDCA cycles.
• Interpret and apply safety policies and procedures, participating in continuous policy improvement.
• Perform detailed safety activities, including risk assessments and ergonomic studies.
• Analyze, report, and present safety data and trends to promote safety initiatives.
• Develop personal technical skills and professional growth.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field.
• 8+ years of safety or relevant manufacturing experience.
• Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, OSHA Technician).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, root cause analysis, and business planning.

Work Conditions

Open office and manufacturing environments, with potential for overtime, varying shifts, and minimal travel.
