Role Overview The Safety and Occupational Health Specialist provides expert guidance and oversight for a nationwide safety program. They serve as a subject matter expert in occupational safety, compliance, and risk management, supporting inspections, training, and program development. Key Responsibilities Offer guidance on hazard control, safety policies, and regulatory complianceConduct inspections, investigations, and risk assessments to develop corrective actionsInvestigate incidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measuresReview construction and project plans for safety adherenceCreate and deliver safety policies, training, and guidance programsSupport safety data management, reporting, and continuous improvement effortsRepresent the organization in meetings with stakeholders and regulators Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related fields; or equivalent with technical courseworkAt least five years of relevant experience in occupational safety and healthProfessional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferredExtensive knowledge of OSH laws, regulations, and safety principlesAbility to interpret engineering drawings and identify hazards in diverse facilitiesStrong analytical, communication, and organizational skillsCapacity to develop procedures and recommend control measures for complex safety issues
