Safety and Health Coordinator - Senior (Hybrid Schedule in Plaquemine or Geismar, LA)

About the role

The Safety & Health Coordinator - Senior role is located at two fractionation facilities and a ship dock facility in Louisiana. This position is based near Plaquemine, Louisiana, and requires candidates to live within one hour of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of safety and health procedures and practices
• Communicate and advise on safety and health practices to key stakeholders
• Represent the facility/operating area/company with stakeholders regarding safety and health matters
• Investigate significant and complex safety incidents
• Develop and deliver safety and health training to employees and contractors
• Conduct workplace assessments and recommend control measures
• Perform S&H job site inspections and recommend control measures
• Analyze and interpret data to improve safety and health performance
• Provide guidance and direction to other staff members

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in environmental, safety, or health-related field
• Extensive experience in safety and health, preferably in process safety management, petrochemical, chemical, or manufacturing environments
• Field experience, coaching, or community service background
• Certifications such as CSP, OSHA 30, GSP, or experience with VPP programs
• Licensed to drive a personal vehicle

• Expertise in occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) regulations
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene and ESH Management System principles
• Effective communication and presentation skills

Benefits

This position offers a hybrid schedule based on business needs and the work schedule. The role follows a 4-9-4 schedule, Monday through Friday, and will require day travel between supported facilities, with less than 25% of overnight travel expected.

Pay

$111,000.00 - $167,000.00
