Senior Work Health and Safety Project Coordinator
About the role
The University of Canberra seeks a Senior Work Health and Safety Project Coordinator to lead a two-year project aimed at enhancing WHS systems, governance, and practices across the Faculty of Science and Technology. This role requires strong project coordination experience, particularly in laboratory, research, technical, or facilities-based environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects to improve WHS systems, governance, and risk management.
- Review and enhance laboratory, fieldwork, and high-risk activity processes.
- Develop consistent WHS procedures, training frameworks, and induction programs.
- Strengthen incident investigation and continuous improvement practices.
- Partner with stakeholders to embed sustainable WHS improvements across the Faculty.
Requirements
This role is ideal for a WHS professional with strong project coordination experience, particularly within laboratory, research, technical, or facilities-based environments, who enjoys delivering practical improvements and building lasting organizational capability.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a relevant tertiary qualification in WHS, engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in WHS management or project coordination.
