Safety Advisor

Overview

The Safety Advisor – Construction role is based in Caledonia, Michigan and works a day shift. Responsibilities

• Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
• Oversee civil contractor
• Create reports, run safety metrics, and use other software programs
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis
• Represent the contractor in progress meetings
• Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, and contractors
• Conduct New Hire Orientations and safety meetings
• Provide incident management and support
• Document and report preparation
• Conduct Contractor program reviews

Requirements

• Seven plus years of construction safety experience
• BSCP Cert - CHST or higher (seven years mission critical construction safety experience)
• Seven (7) years mission critical construction safety experience with CSP or CHST certification, OR ten (10) years progressive field safety experience on mission critical projects
• A degree in safety or related fields is preferred
• First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association
• OSHA 30-hr Construction

Qualifications

• Ability to move about long distances
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period
• Exposure to extreme weather
• Exposure to loud noises
• Wearing personal protective gear correctly
