About the role
This position supports Masthead Rigging 521 operations in Tempe, AZ, providing administrative and operational assistance to the Safety department.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Manager, Corporate Safety and Regional Safety Managers to provide leadership and direction on all safety matters for assigned operations, branches, and departments.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the safety program, recommending modifications to achieve established safety goals and objectives.
- Serve as a consultant to assigned regions and branches to improve overall health and safety.
- Support the Safety department with data entry, file system maintenance, meeting coordination, calendar management, and other administrative tasks.
- Assist with the implementation of the Safety department’s systems and policies.
- Collaborate with Safety department team members, all levels of management and staff, as well as outside clients and subcontractors.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor.
- Update and maintain the Incidents Log, managing all incident documents and submittals to the customer.
- Support the Safety Manager with managing the safety portion of subcontractor qualifications.
- Upload weekly Project Status Report (PSR) and other assigned documents.
- Become proficient in internal information management systems such as Highwire, Procore, Box, and Fieldglass.
- Support Safety Professionals in managing Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) reports.
- Track and submit Safety Professionals’ hours.
- Assist with safety training and tracking.
- Collect and enter jobsite documentation from work areas generated by crews.
- Assist with planning safety department events.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for the safety department.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
This position is safety-sensitive.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction safety.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience required; college degree preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of construction operations, including high-tech environments.
- Careful attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and ability to self-direct.
- Capable of prioritizing a varied workload.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- BCSP credentials a plus.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
