Responsibilities
- Oversee material tracking efforts, perform periodic item control audits, and conduct an annual site physical inventories.
- Monitor and estimate measurement accuracy and ensure appropriate measurement controls are applied.
- Estimate inventory uncertainties to ensure the measurement control program has sufficient accuracy to fulfill NRC requirements.
- Generate and maintain accounting records and submissions to the U.S. Nuclear Material Management Safeguards System (NMMSS) database.
- Apply for and manage all necessary nuclear material import and export licenses.
- Review changes to plant processes and procedures to ensure FNMCP requirements are met.
- Revise Safeguards programs to implement Safeguards improvements or FNMCP revisions.
- Apply MC&A principles to plant upsets, process changes, and special projects.
- Assist with NRC and IAEA inspections.
- Review changes to the FNMCP.
- May mentor less experienced Safeguard Specialists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Knowledge in nuclear MC&A in the manufacturing environment, MC&A related statistical tools, and inventory uncertainty methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
- Grows developed network and maintains good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with nuclear material management systems.
