About the role

Lead the charge in occupational health and safety by implementing programs, interpreting regulations, and guiding corrective action. Conduct audits, prepare OSHA reports, and develop safe work procedures that protect employees and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and administer safety and occupational health programs and work procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships and culture for preventing injuries.
  • Possess and apply a broad knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, practices and procedures.
  • Interpret and assure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
  • Prepare and distribute educational materials and information.
  • Compile and submit required OSHA accident reports.
  • Plan and conduct facility audits and recommend actions for the correction of hazardous situations for compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct job safety analyses to develop safe work procedures schedules.
  • Participate in periodic safety meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial safety, industrial hygiene, or equivalent required.
  • Four years or more directly related work experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to project sites as travel may be required up to 20%.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and maintain productive internal and external working relationships.

Pay

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $77,000 - $96,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.

Schedule

The employment type is ALLETE - Non-Union and the FLSA status is Exempt.
