Washington County School Age Child Care (SACC) Program provides a safe, educationally enriched, quality care program for children attending Washington County Schools.
Responsibilities
- Maintain children's safety
- Maintain site paperwork (time sheets, parent accounts)
- Maintain rules and regulations for child care centers in the state of Tennessee
- Provide a clean and safe environment
- Supervise and guide children through scheduled activities
- Implement state rules and regulations
- Effective and positive communication with parents and children
- Report suspected child abuse
- Prepare weekly lesson plans
- Report equipment hazards and safety concerns to the Site Director
- Must arrive on time for scheduled shifts
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director
- Knowledge of proper safety drill procedures to include evacuation procedures and safe areas within facility
- Maintain the policies and procedures of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent with 4 years working experience with youth or degree
- Background check (every 5 years)
- First Aid, CPR and AED training (will be provided when clear for employment)
- Physical (every 3 years)
- 18 hours of state approved professional development training each year (staff will be guided to web sites in order to achieve the required training)

Capacity and Ability Requirements
- Intelligence: The ability to understand instructions and underlying principles. Ability to reason and make judgments.
- Verbal: Ability to understand meanings of words and ideas associated with them.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to move the hands easily and skillfully.
- Form Perception: To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures.
- Color Discrimination: Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color.
