Description
K.C. Heffernan Elementary School, Marcellus, NY offers positions starting at $17.50/hour, Monday through Friday from 6:45 am - 9:15 am and 2:45 pm - 6:00 pm, with additional meetings in between. The position is open to all and is part of a community-focused organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Position Summary
This position supports the mission and work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit organization. The SACC Site Coordinator will plan, organize, and lead a comprehensive thematic-based enrichment program for children attending licensed before and after school programs. They will ensure the well-being of participants and follow YMCA guidelines and regulations.
Essential Functions
- Models YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with individuals and groups.
- Maintains physical presence and responds to emergencies immediately.
- Plans, coordinates, organizes, and leads all daily program activities.
- Ensures adequate coverage for all activities and maintains program records.
- Works additional on-site hours, shifts, and during vacation camps as needed.
- Enforces YMCA policies and procedures, including those for preventing child abuse.
- Ambassadors all YMCA programs, focusing on department offerings and member engagement.
- Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment availability.
- Cleans and stores equipment according to branch procedures.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and trainings.
- Willing to step up to contribute to the overall success of the YMCA.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Leadership qualities to lead and work as a team member.
- NYS Office Of Children And Family Services Requirements:
- Initial medical statement and tuberculin test.
- Fingerprint and background screening.
- Clearance on the State Central Register (SCR) and Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCL).
- Annual safety, combating sexual-harassment, and child abuse prevention trainings.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Medication Administration Certification (MAT) or equivalent within 60 days.
- Minimum of 30 hours of training every 2 years, with the first 15 hours within the first 6 months.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses.
