S.T.E.A.M TEACHER

Duties And Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math.
• Responsible for teaching and planning for a STEAM course as well as integrating STEAM concepts K-8.
• Counsels and trains teachers in the effective integration of STEAM concepts into a project-based learning framework.
• Conducts in-service education for teachers in the effective integration of STEAM concepts into a project-based learning framework.
• Plans hands-on classroom experiences with a class studying a particular topic at the request of the teacher.
• Prepares and administers the STEAM budget.
• Explores opportunities for STEAM supplies, programs, and competitions.
• Focuses on integration of critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and high complexity problem solving throughout the curriculum.
• Develops Career Ready Practices.

Qualifications

• VALID PENNSYLVANIA K-6 Elementary certificate and 5-8 Science and/or Math certificate preferred.
• Preferred experience in enrichment and/or Gifted and Talented.
• Preferred experience in STEAM Education.
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate educational technology in the classroom.
• Experience or familiarity with tools such as, but not limited to: 3D printing, Scratch coding, BASIC coding, app development, robotics, etc.
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
• Possesses a mindset of ongoing learning, experimentation, innovation, and enthusiasm.
