S-STEM Peer Mentor

About the role

S3C at McMurry University is seeking Peer Mentors to support students in their academic journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, support, and knowledge to mentees as assigned by project staff.
• Work with mentees the full 10 hours each week, which can be face-to-face, via email or call/text.
• Attend mentor training sessions with other peer mentors.
• Participate in a half-day training session before the fall semester starts, with additional 1-hour meetings throughout the academic year.

Requirements

• Must be a current student at McMurry University with a STEM major.
• Available for 10 hours per week.
• Willingness to commit to a two-year position.

• Ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Interest in STEM fields.
