RVP, Solution Engineering - Central
About the role
At Tanium, our Regional Vice President leads a team of Solutions Engineers who serve customers and prospects by understanding their challenges and showcasing the Tanium value proposition to solve tough problems. This role preserves Tanium’s culture while operating in a collaborative environment with sales, product management, enterprise services, marketing, and customer support. RVPs drive technical sales opportunities for prospects and strategic accounts, requiring strong leadership and technical expertise in account planning, technical sales, and team leadership within their territory.
This role requires location in the CT time zone and 30-50% travel.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales to deliver revenue and manage the customer journey from technical discovery to adoption, value realization, and expansion.
- Proactively identify and remove roadblocks impacting team execution, escalating and resolving issues quickly.
- Foster a culture of high accountability, ensuring team members own commitments and deliver against key metrics.
- Build and maintain a strategic partnership with Sales leadership to drive shared pipeline, revenue, and customer outcomes.
- Hire, onboard, motivate, and retain top talent while holding regular 1:1s, performance management, and coaching sessions.
- Ensure ongoing technical enablement and accountability for understanding and preserving Tanium’s culture.
- Drive regional results through data-driven decisions, delegation, and resource planning based on workload and demand.
- Facilitate team meetings to encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and constructive feedback.
- Create and manage strategic account and territory assignments within the region.
- Champion customer and partner voices to influence product direction and feature priorities.
- Lead innovation initiatives and special projects based on creative ideas.
- Lead technical pre-sales opportunities, deep technical sales conversations, and demonstrations.
- Participate in marketing events from a technical perspective and assist other regions as needed.
Requirements
- 8+ years in the industry with solid technical skills in networking, security, operations, scripting, and/or programming.
- Proven leadership of a technical team with a deep sense of ownership and hands-on approach.
- Passion for leading teams with empathy, patience, and inclusiveness while achieving business goals.
- Demonstrated mentorship of technologists, embodying Tanium’s core values.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate corporate initiatives into tactical execution.
- Experience working with large enterprise customers, leading strategic pre-sales opportunities, and solving complex problems.
- Excellent organizational skills and good judgment in prioritizing tasks based on value and alignment with Tanium’s mission.
- Mastery of executive communication, emotional intelligence, and patience in all interactions.
- Strong influencing skills to present logical and compelling arguments for innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar preferred.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $210,000 to $322,000, with additional commission eligibility. The final salary may vary based on factors such as location, education, skills, training, and experience.
