Ruskin - Shipping/Crating - 1st Shift

About the role

This position involves preparing products for shipment, minimizing transit damage through precise measurements and assembly, and utilizing various tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret tape measures accurately within 1/16th of an inch.
• Cut wood to size using a saw or shear.
• Retrieve and replenish necessary materials and parts to maintain organized production.
• Operate forklifts and cranes as needed.
• Operate automatic nail and staple guns.
• Wrap products by hand or with an automatic wrapping machine.
• Operate shipping computers and related software.
• Build pallets to secure products during shipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school education preferred.
• At least one year of shipping experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.
• Mathematical skills including basic algebra and geometry.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Lifting and moving up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
