Ruskin - Shipping/Crating - 2nd Shift

About the role

This position involves preparing products for shipment and minimizing transit damage through tasks such as measuring, cutting wood, operating machinery, and using computers.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret a tape measure within 1/16th of an inch
• Use a saw or shear to cut wood to size
• Retrieve and replenish necessary materials and parts
• Operate a forklift and/or crane
• Operate automatic nail and staple guns
• Wrap products by hand or with an automatic wrapping machine
• Operate shipping computer(s) and related software
• Build pallets to secure products during shipment

Requirements

• High school education preferred
• At least one year of shipping experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports
• Mathematical skills including basic algebra and geometry
• Physical demands including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 100 pounds, and exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electrical shock

Qualifications

Attendance is essential, requiring regular, consistent, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance. Must be able to work as part of a team and independently as needed.

Pay

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
