Runner / Busser

About the role

A Busser at Living Room curates a well organized, clean, and structured member and guest experience. They support the team and leadership by cleaning and resetting tables, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates, and bringing guest needs to the attention of the waitstaff. They restock necessary items such as napkins and straws, and may assist with washing dishes. A successful Busser will be efficient, attentive, and have strong customer service skills.

Complete Service Standards training to learn about products, steps of service, and property standards.

Responsibilities

• Detail all tables before service begins; ensure place settings are neat, organized, and properly lit.
• Ensure appropriate table setting and china are used for various services throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or feast service); items in place include ketchup, salt, pepper, HP, and sugar bowl.
• Stock all stations upon arrival (small plates, sharing plates, water and wine glasses, and all silverware) and maintain throughout service while working with the team to keep stations neat.
• Maintain section and ensure water is delivered upon guests’ arrival; assist other sections when applicable.
• Clear tables (plates, silver/glassware) between each course and subsequently wipe down and re-set tables for new guests.
• Polish silverware and pot wash are stored according to local standards.
• Complete side work before and after service.
• Ensure the cabinet and shelf in the bar area are full before service (glassware, silverware, plateware).
• Remove all dirty linen from station; ensure trash is empty and clean.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Flexible schedule and open to working weekends/holidays when needed.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and deliver results in demanding and fast-paced environments.
• Basic verbal communication skills.
