About the role

A motivated File Clerk/Runner is sought to join the team in Houston, supporting the File team at Arnold & Itkin LLP, one of the top trial firms in the U.S. The firm has recovered billions of dollars for clients and has set records nationwide with verdicts and settlements in nearly every state.

Noteworthy results include $8 billion punitive damages verdict for a single products liability plaintiff, $557 million verdict for a woman hit by a train, and numerous other significant settlements and verdicts.

Responsibilities

• Run local errands for firm partners and managers
• Read, scan, document, and distribute/route high volume incoming correspondence
• Retrieve, organize, and file client documents and files
• Maintain document files using case management software
• Frequently assist in the movement of boxes or furniture weighing up to 50 lbs
• Monitor inventories in supply room and kitchen, and conference room set-up and maintenance
• Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs

Requirements

• Manage a variety of daily tasks within standard business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m
• Ability to work in varying environments and be on your feet
• Handling a demanding workload with consistency and attention to detail
• Excellent oral communication, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently without significant supervision
• Ability to prioritize and complete numerous and complex assignments on time
• Thrive on obtaining favorable results in a fast-paced law firm environment
• Willing to work extended hours as needed to accommodate caseload demands
• Familiar with Office 365 suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, and ability to learn contemporary technology in law practice
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

Position Type and Compensation

This is a contracted position (90 days) subject to permanent hire based in Houston, with competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
