RT Technician

Description Summary

Carry out non-destructive testing of structures, pipelines, or components and materials using various inspection techniques.

Essential Functions

• Conduct NDT testing in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and procedures.
• Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate NDT equipment.
• Identify defects using appropriate testing techniques and document findings.
• Complete work orders and documentation according to established protocols and deadlines.
• Drive company vehicles safely and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Provide training and supervision to assigned assistants.

Other Functions

• Perform general vehicle maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Maintain shop areas in a clean, organized manner.
• Respond to call-outs and work long shifts, including overnight travel.

• NDT Methods – Expertise in multiple NDT methods and willingness to learn and apply new skills.
• Mechanical – Intermediate mechanical knowledge.
• Safety – Knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Work Ethic – Ability to work demanding and flexible schedules, including long hours and call-outs.
• Physical Demands – Strength to lift up to 150 pounds, ability to work in various conditions, and good physical stamina.
• Customer Service – Professional interaction with customers.
• Team Work – Effective collaboration and instruction abilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Insurability through PROtect, LLC insurance carrier.
• Certification in one or more NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT).
• PAT preferred.

Work Experience

• Demonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience.
