Roving Maintenance Engineer

About the role

This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance on building equipment and systems, overseeing general building systems operations, coordinating vendor work, and performing general repairs and adjustments to building systems, lighting, and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building equipment and systems.
• Perform or oversee general building systems operations, including boiler, mechanical electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, and elevators.
• Cook up and oversee vendor work.
• Perform general repairs/adjustments to building systems, lighting, and plumbing.

Requirements

• Must have general maintenance experience in the operation of commercial buildings and equipment.
• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Participate in on-call, after-hours and weekend rotation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a helpful attitude when interacting with building occupants.
• Valid driver's license, clear driving record, basic knowledge of computer applications and ability to lift 100 lbs.
• Ability to work from a ladder, work overhead, smell smoke and other chemicals and be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a boiler operator license.
• Have a knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to make needed adjustments and general repairs.
• Microsoft 365 Software experience.
