Roving Maintenance Engineer
Routine and Preventive Equipment Rounds
Conduct routine and preventive equipment rounds and inspections, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of operating conditions.
Maintaining Central Plant Systems
- Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant systems, including but not limited to:
- Chillers and cooling towers
- Boilers and hydronic systems
- Compressed air systems
- Reverse osmosis (R.O.) and water treatment systems
Performing Troubleshooting and Repair
Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and control system issues across multiple buildings.
Supporting Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment reliability and lifecycle performance.
Responding to Service Calls and Emergencies
Respond to service calls, alarms, and emergency situations, providing timely resolution or escalation.
Collaborating with Site Teams and Vendors
Collaborate with site teams, vendors, and management to ensure consistent service delivery across the portfolio.
Maintaining Compliance and Cleanliness
- Maintain compliance with JLL and client-specific policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain all work areas, mechanical rooms, and equipment in a clean, organized, and audit-ready condition
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working with central plant or HVAC systems
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; ability to travel regularly between sites
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to respond to short-notice assignments and emergency coverage needs
- Foundational mechanical knowledge, including the ability to use common hand tools, interpret equipment conditions, and perform routine maintenance tasks safely and effectively
- Basic computer proficiency, including Building Automation Systems (e.g., Maximo/BAS) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related technical field
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including troubleshooting and basic diagnostics
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a multi-site environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships across teams
- OSHA safety training or industry certifications (e.g., EPA Universal, Boiler Operator License)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 49 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended shifts (up to 12 hours)
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor conditions

Location and Shift Details
Onsite - Thousand Oaks, CA
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm + Overtime based on business needs. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Willingness to respond to short-notice assignments and emergency coverage needs
Pay and Benefits
