Route Supervisor

Position Summary

The Route Supervisor supports the Director with leadership of the safe, timely, and effective delivery of linen and other assigned products to customers. They manage a team of Route Service Representatives (RSRs), oversee transportation vehicles, and ensure operational excellence.

Essential Duties And Other Responsibilities

• Supports operations management through continuous high-level communication between operations management and RSRs.
• Investigates client issues and concerns to determine root cause and immediate course of correction and sustained improvement.
• Compiles data for illustration of metrics and outcomes.
• Participates and adds value to committees, meetings, and activities.
• Maintains an environment that is safe through cleanliness and in an orderly condition.
• Routinely and continuously observes RSRs for safe practices including but not limited to safe handling of infectious materials.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy.
• Demonstrates and promotes Superior Linen culture, values, and management philosophy.
• Constantly resource and remind staff of the highest level of quality client and coworker interaction.
• Encourage staff to participate in additional training, education, and/or self-development.
• Routinely rides along with RSRs for the purpose of observation and training enhancement.
• Provides high level of communication, keeping all managers/directors informed of activities, needs, or concerns.
• Maintains records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Maintains high quality relationships with vendors and service providers.

Required Education, Training, Experience and Licenses

• High School Diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree or professional driving certification.

Particular Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively in written formal and oral presentations from hourly staff to Director.
• Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment.
• Must exhibit self-initiative, accountability, flexible and good leadership skills as well as interpersonal savvy.
• Possess a thorough knowledge of linen services, healthcare linen needs, infection control.
• Above-average time management skills including ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
