Route Sales Manager
About the role
This position requires travel; the individual will travel between Portland, OR and Tukwila, WA 1-2 times monthly.
Responsibilities
- Drive profitability and growth of existing and potential customers while maintaining the market center’s total managed volume.
- Develop the Service and Safety culture and utilize Route Sales leadership skills to build employee performance, grow base business, and enhance client partnerships.
- Facilitate employee selection, development, and retention using strategic and leadership skills to foster strong customer relationships.
- Ensure optimal route sales execution and resolve route service issues for clients, visiting client sites when needed.
- Own and foster effective communication at all levels of the organization.
- Plan, schedule, assign, and monitor daily route assignments to ensure clients are serviced according to company standards and agreements.
- Provide route sales employees with ongoing feedback, including recognition and coaching on route growth opportunities, performance productivity, sales skills development, service partnerships, safety, equipment operation, routing, vehicle inspection, and client retention risk.
- Maintain all business records, documentation, and administrative standards, including personnel records, delivery and invoice records, product and asset inventories, DOT requirements, and client sales, contact, and pricing.

Requirements
- Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or related tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT-regulated vehicles.
- Clean driving record for 5 years.
- Strong client interaction, communication, organization/time management, multitasking, and computer skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
